Honda CB400 Bratsyle

This super clean and lean 'Brat Styled' CB400 was built by Jared Johnson and Joe Carlino from the newly formed Holiday Customs. The project started when Joe purchased a beat up old 1975 Honda CB400. After stripping the bike down to the frame they then painted everything black. Joe found a tank off an old Suzuki 125 and had to pound out the inside so it would fit. The velocity stacks were found NOS in a box from the 70's and Jared came up with the idea to have them stick up to add a little flair. The bike is actually for sale, so if you live in the Portland area and are interested in buying this CB400, you can email the guys on holidaycustoms@yahoo.com (unfortunately they don't have a website up and running yet).

Yup, that's a great looking bike. Lots of style.
But how are you supposed to ride it? One hard bump in the road and that back tire hits the fender and locks up! And why no front brake?
I love bobbers but some are essentially unrideable or dangerous. Reminds me of the radical chopper fad, now mercifully dead.
Why own one if you can't ride it!? Really!

Those are Firestone 400's. The official "brat" tire.

very nice. very clean. although patrick has issues w/ it, i think everyone else can stand a little form over function sometimes and appreciate it for what it is. if there was 3-4-5 inches of suspension the bike would look stupid. and who needs a front brake?? whatever. i just think if you can't appreciate it for what it is, keep your mouth shut.

Thanks for the props guys. As far as the rear suspension... it's about .5in-1in travel so the fender doesn't hit the tire. The front brake for sure is a fashion over function thing. To me these bikes are more little art projects, We will see where it takes me.
