Bonneville

Bonneville Speedweek

This breathtaking photograph is just one in the series by Los Angeles based photographer Jerry Garns. If this shot doesn’t inspire you to head to the 2010 Bonneville Speed Week then nothing will. Jerry tells us that someone once said that “if you are a Buddhist you go to Tibet, but if you are a motorhead, you go to Bonneville”. Jerry had been wanting to go to Bonneville since he was a kid so when he finally arrived last year this is how he described the life long dream: “Once you leave the paved road and roll out onto the salt, you feel like you are in another world. The expanse and flatness, along with the history of racing, creates a sense of place that is beyond written description. Everyone should go to the salt flats at least once in your life to experience it for your self”. To see the other spectacular shots in the series, including legendary Shinya Kimura and Randy Speranza check out Jerry’s portfolio.

68 Bonneville Custom

Posted on September 15, 2009 by Scott in Bobber, Classic. 4 comments

Discovered this Bonneville Custom on an Italian site called Cafe Racer Culture. It’s a pretty sweet site packed full of cafe racer and custom goodies. Because man (especially Italian men) can’t live on bikes alone theres also loads of beautiful pinup girls if the bikes weren’t getting you excited. Hit the jump if you want to see more pics of this orange retro Bonnie. Another Triumph worth checking out is this great Bonneville Cafe Racer.

British Customs

British Customs in California have parts and accessories for nearly every model of Triumph motorcycle. They sell some great Triumph body accessories like cafe racer seats, fuel tank covers and custom pipes. The black Bonneville below was customised from all their gear. Love the black on black. It looks a little bit cookie cutter at the moment but once you add your own personal touches it could be a really sweet ride. (Would like to see a big dent in that tank as well, looks too new and perfect).

Triumph Street Tracker

Posted on July 24, 2009 by Scott in Racer, Tracker. 2 comments

BellaCorse are a large seller of Triumph Bonneville parts and accessories in Michigan, USA. The owner Michael Selman also built this mean Street Tracker. Project Swiss Misfortune is an eyecatcher that started life as a 2002 790cc Bonnie. The engine has been bored-out to 904cc and has Keihin Racing FCR-39mm flat slide carbs and a BellaCorse Air Box Elimination kit installed. The 2-1 exhaust is from Zard of Italy and is a Titanium-alloy construction. The alloy tank and seat were hand-made and are loosely patterned after the H-D XR750. You can definitely see the resemblance especially in the seat. With all that chrome and a powerful moan, who wouldn’t want to take it home. For more Triumph Trackers check out the legendary Triumph Flat Track blog.

Goldmember Custom

Posted on July 12, 2009 by Scott in Racer. 7 comments

Goldmember is the name of this amazing machine. Built by Canadian Roger Goldammer from Goldammer Cycle Works. Goldammer knows how to build bikes and he builds most parts on his show bikes. This bike won last years Official World Championship of Custom Bike Building. Not only does it look great, it also performs well. Recently becoming a world record holder, averaging over 160 miles per hour at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Wouldn’t you love to ride this beast on a salt lake? In the words of the other Goldmember… Yeah baby!
