It’s a style of motorcycle so popular that manufacturers have been offering them for years, whole magazines are dedicated to showing them off and workshops around the globe exclusively specialise in their customisation. And yet in nine years of Pipeburn we’ve never featured a single one…
Welcome, Harley Davidson Executive Management! You might not have visited our website before. There’s not too much here for you normally, but maybe you’ve stumbled onto Pipeburn looking for inspiration for future models. It’s hard making those big decisions, like picking between gloss black, matte black, denim black or black black. But why not build something different? Like this custom Harley Davidson 2008 Softail Cross Bones, built by Winston Yeh and the team at Rough Crafts, based in Taipei, Taiwan.
This is a rare photo of Steve McQueen in Taiwan (even though some say Japan) on the set of ‘The Sand Pebbles‘. This was the only movie he received an Academy Award nomination (but didn’t win). Apparently he had this Suzuki T20 (not a tr500 as first thought) with racing fairing shipped in so he could travel around Taiwan when not filming. I have also read lots of stories that McQueen raced Army officers from bar to bar with the loser having to buy the next round of drinks. Needless to say that McQueen didn’t have to buy many rounds. Check out more pics of ‘The king of cool’ on this beautiful bike.
