Triumph in Christchurch

Found this little beauty in the corner of an impressive motoring shop in Christchurch NZ called Fazazz. The photo doesn't do it justice (I only had my phone). It's a 1971 Triumph 250 which has apparently only done 316 original miles. I was also told that the previous owner was a little old lady in America (sound like a sales pitch?). Whatever the case this is a great little classic being sold for $9000 NZ dollars. Not cheap but they don't make them like this anymore, and you won't find many in this condition especially New Zealand.

Redbull Racer

Formula Supervee driver Marc Crocetti sent me some photo's of his 1971 Triumph T100 R that he turned into a Redbull Cafe Racer. He purchased it a year ago from a friend who had the Triumph in numerous boxes and hadn't been ridden for about 12 years, prior to that it was used as a dirt bike for 15 years. It seemed like a big project but Marc had the vision to turn this bike into something special. He started with a BSA starfire gas tank and extending it 4 inches, then he added a Ducati style seat that he widened 2.5 inches at the front to fit the Triumph frame. It also has Ceriani front forks that were lowered 2.5 inches, a Honda 450 front wheel that he drilled out for better brake cooling and a fiberglass front fender that looks very Dunstall in style. Then he rebuilt the engine, the head, the transmission, clutch and primary drive. Marc even did the Red Bull paint job himself, inspired by his love of motorsport (we bet he consumed a can or two working late in his garage as well). By the looks of it we think this Red Bull Triumph will really give you wings.

Four Aces Triumph

Four Aces in California specialize in Triumphs and other British bikes. Below is an example of one of the Triumph customs they built recently. This is how Four Aces describe this awesome bike... "Long time friend and customer Luis bought a crusty old pre-unit at a now defunct local swap meet and brought it in for some minor fixing up, but the more we dug into the bike, the more we discovered stuff that needed to be fixed or massaged. The bike had been a funky desert sled with some period chopper parts added later, but it became a neo-hot rod So. Cal styled cruiser. We worship at the alter of the ribbed fender and peanut tank around here and Luis’ bike screamed for this treatment. The muted color design and blacked out front end and wheels were at Luis’ direction. The result of the minimal chrome is a stunning understatement. Rick Grindle’s paint job is the coolest mix of stock 1948 Speed Twin and 1950’s bobber that you will ever see. Wrap the custom made exhaust pipes with hot rod heat wrap and it is something old, and something new. We love our So. Cal Style". 68 Bonneville Custom

Discovered this Bonneville Custom on an Italian site called Cafe Racer Culture. It's a pretty sweet site packed full of cafe racer and custom goodies. Because man (especially Italian men) can't live on bikes alone theres also loads of beautiful pinup girls if the bikes weren't getting you excited. Hit the jump if you want to see more pics of this orange retro Bonnie. Another Triumph worth checking out is this great Bonneville Cafe Racer.

Marvel-Us-Triton

Marvel-Us Customs are a small custom shop from Phoenix, Arizona. They specialize in building cutting edge vintage and pre 80’s bikes to show stopping quality. They also have a love for British bikes. Like this beautifully restored Triton. Here's a list of specs (deep breath)... The bike is a 1956 Triumph T110 pre unit motor with a 750cc morgo kit and dual 930 amal carbs. The frame is the classic 1964 Norton featherbed slimline. The rims are Akront high shoulder rims, it has 19" dunlop front and back. Haward belt drive and the swing arm was streched 2 1/2" for a longer base and to fit the 19 x4.0 in the narrow norton swing arm. Got all that? In simple terms it's one stunning ride that has us rabid like Cujo.

Life on the PCH

These beautiful photos were shot by Kristian Ranker for a story in French magazine Citizen K. The story is titled 'Life on the PCH'. PCH stands for Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles. The article takes a look at the biker culture who ride their customs along this famous stretch of road. If you want to see more shots in this great series check out Means Ranker (There's also a pretty cool video on there as well).

British Customs

British Customs in California have parts and accessories for nearly every model of Triumph motorcycle. They sell some great Triumph body accessories like cafe racer seats, fuel tank covers and custom pipes. The black Bonneville below was customised from all their gear. Love the black on black. It looks a little bit cookie cutter at the moment but once you add your own personal touches it could be a really sweet ride. (Would like to see a big dent in that tank as well, looks too new and perfect).

Triumph advertising

These Triumph Motorcycle billboards were found on Ads of the World. The ads don't blow us away but they are better than a punch in the head (actually it depends if the 'punch' is alcoholic). If you don't know what a Seismologist is then you should go back to school, or google it like we did. As it turns out it didn't make the ads any better. We still love the scrambler and kudos to Triumph for manufacturing it again.

Triumph Hard Ass

We came across this beautiful looking 1967 T120R Triumph Hard Tail on the very cool Cycle Zombies Blog. The blog has a great mix of motorbikes, surf and skate material (heres where I do a plug for the hopkin skate shop). Anyway back to the Triumph. It is actually for sale for $7,500 which sounds very reasonable considering the work thats gone into it. For more pics and details hit this zombie link.
