Wrenchmonkees #9 - BMW R65/7

The BMW R65 is personally one of my favourite BMW motorcycles. It was BMW's answer to the new generation of Japanese bikes hitting the market in the late 70's. Built shorter and smaller to compete with these Japanese light and middleweight street bikes flooding the markets. Now 30 years later it's great to see the Wrenchmonkees (WM) work their magic on this German icon. Firstly by placing a R80 engine in the R65 frame, adding Gazi Gas rear shocks and many custom WM features like their megatron muffler, and a no-nonsense monkee seat. The old-school Firestone Deluxe Champion tires are the final icing on the cake. Not sure whether the debadging of the BMW logo is an anti-establishment statement or just WM claiming complete ownership of their creation. Whatever the case, it just works. Wrench Monkee Auction

The Wrench Monkees are auctioning off two of their amazing motorcycles on the auction site Lauritz. Gorilla Punch (pictured) is probably the most famous, being posted this year on more sites than Paris Hilton's private parts. Although unlike Paris, this Honda CB750 Four is sexy, clean and has hardly been ridden. The other Monkee bike up for auction is Monkee #7 the Harley Sportster XLCH with that unforgettable Husqvarna CR tank. You have until November 25 to use the cash stashed under your mattress that you took out of the bank during the credit crunch. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Monkee #3

A little while ago we showed you how the Wrench Monkees customized a Harley Davidson, now here's how they transformed a Kawasaki Z1000 into a performance Cafe Racer. In my humble opinion the stock Kawasaki Z1000 isn't the most attractive bike in the world but it does command respect. We love how WM have turned a Z1000 into a thing of beauty whilst keeping it's performance heart and soul. A Z 1000 A engine, Wiseco piston kit, Wilbers rear shocks, Supertrapp muffler, and loads more WM goodies. For all the specs and more pics of this racer check the WM Gallery. Wrenchmonkee HD

The Wrenchmonkees have done it again. Creating a truly unique HD XLCH Hardtail. We love the combination of the old Husqvarna CR tank, Pirelli trials knobby tires on a HD sportster with a Monkee hardtail rear frame. Add the WM megatron pipes and custom fender and you have one friggin cool looking bike. Their motorcycles are almost worth moving to Copenhagen for (also Carlsberg beer and lego). Monkee Magic

We are big fans of the Wrench Monkees from Denmark, Copenhagen. They have so many great bikes on their website but this Honda CB750 is one of our favourites. They mix up their project bikes from the classic SR500 and XS650 through to some less obvious rides like the z750B and Z1000A. Whatever the model they are turning them all into unique custom bikes that we really dig.
