This 1968 BSA lightning has a custom seat and rear fender combo. The oil tank below the seat is all custom made. The tail light is custom hand made and hand polished brass end caps. It is a two function LED light hidden behind a red glass lens and functions as a tail light/brake light. The hand made and polished brass battery box is tucked neatly at the lower rear section of the transmission and is mounted in conjunction with the factory engine mount. It has the appearance it is just floating between the engine and oil tank. The left side also has a hand made brass brake vent. The pieces hanging above the bike are the hand made foot pegs that also receive a brass touch and a hand made head light mount. The paint is custom with the frame and all parts painted with the good stuff. No powder coat or rattle can on this bike. All the work and paint on the bike was performed by myself. I know the dreaded pipe wrap. This custom exhaust was made with many left over pieces of old BSA exhaust and pipe wrap fit the budget at the time. This is my own personal bike and has been for a few years now. The exhaust and other changes are happening now as the bike will continue to evolve a bit. Many of the parts described are posted on my facebook page in a photo album. This bike gets much attention at shows and I’m very happy as it was my first crack at a custom bike. Enjoy and thanks for the opportunity!
