1994 Monster, converted first into a cafe racer after crashing it in 2001. Adapted frame, spoke wheels, engine largely stock but K&N filters for easier breathing. The styling is inspired by the bike that Pual Smart rode to victory at Imola in the seventies, but I chose to paint the frame black instead fo blue and did not put the high exhaust on one side, to keep it more in the classic cafe racer look. I rode it for 15 years with fiberglass tank, top fairing, front fender, tail section and side covers. Due to the new aggressive additives in the gas, the tank started leaking more and more despite some repairing attempts. So I had all the bodywork redone in aluminum by local Dutch specialist ‘the Custom Factory’. And took advantage of that to clean out the mid section – relocated the battery and electronics to the tail section, so the triangle below the saddle is empty & see-through. Left the aluminum unpolished and raw, which works fine, you just sand out the scratches every now and then. The tail features the Hard Motos crossed wrenches.
