The Suzuki XF650 Freewind was a ‘travel-enduro’ motorcycle that leveraged the use of the Suzuki bulletproof DR650 single-cylinder engine. Standing tall on an off-road-capable suspension and shrouded in touring style plastics it’s far from what most would consider an ideal starting point for a cafe racer project. But for me and my team, it was the perfect testbed for the universal kit.
As a final goal, being able to make a motorcycle capable of stopping passers-by whether they are motorcycle lovers or eternal irreverent “young” is our prize.
In addition to the Kit we produced and assembled here, we modified the original hub of the bike to be able to take two 320mm discs, adapted in a show inverted suspension.17 inch spoke rims, Radial brake master cylinder and twin caliper. We relocated the oil cooler with a new support and oil tubes made by us. We adapted an old fuel tank from a suzuki gs 850 and leveled it with the back of the Kit Cafeina 6.5. We do the rearsets controls and also the exhaust manifold, the mufflers are after market. We try as we can see to assemble everything in a perfection of lines that we try our best to achieve harmonization almost as if it were a standard motorcycle. We have eliminated from view as much as possible the exhaust supports, as well as the number of screws or any other type of fixation that could harm our vision, in the side covers, in the seat, front fairing, mud guard. Under the seat the space is free as well as on the sides, it has two bags to carry personal objects and make the use of the bike more practical. Although not verified, we can talk about a free volume of 6/7 + 4 liters for sure!The set of colors and decoration are clearly inspired by the Ducati 900 ss and trying to pay tribute to that great motorcycle is this work here presented to you in a format and concept “do it yourself” and “daily use”. The kit we produce is the front fairing support, the complete rear part of the chassis, rear sets, and all fairings, wind shield and mud guards, etc. We hope that our work will attract your attention for everything and that it is worthy of inspiring more people to this passion of ours.
