I have to admit I love a good garage and after reading Chris’s review on Bikeexif I knew we had to get our hands on a copy of Motorcycle Dream Garages. Luckily it didn’t disappoint, with beautiful photographs of garages ranging from bike builders, celebrities and even some anonyomous collectors (who want to protect their collection from people like you and me). The author and photographer Lee Klancher finds some truly inspiring stories amongst what many believe are just four brick walls. Although we know that garages are a place where dreams are created and shared. The 17 chapters are divided into five types of garages; palaces (like Jay Leno’s), real deals, sanctuaries, businesses and racer’s refuges. Our favourites would have to be Geby Wager’s amazing garage in Canada (pictured below) and also the story behind Rising Wolf Garage in New York. Like all of these garages, the book is well put together with a lot of thought gone into it’s design and content. It is summed up best by the author when he says “The spaces, bikes, and people photographed in this book are a diverse lot, all with interesting stories, and all united in their passion for two wheels”. If you share that same passion for two wheels then you will dig this book. [You can find it at Amazon or if in Australia visit Autobook World].
