Another piece of motorcycle history I admired at the Deus shop was this old Indian Scout. I know it’s not a cafe racer but it would have been one hell of a ride back in its day.
In the 1920’s the Scout gained reputation for strength and reliability, which led to the old Indian saying: “You can’t wear out an Indian Scout, or its brother the Indian Chief. They are built like rocks to take hard knocks; it’s the Harleys that cause grief.” Them are fightin words!
Yes, it is another Japanese custom shop. But these guys are doing things a little different. They look like they are really experimenting with tanks, pipes and paint jobs. Pretty distinctive. They are called Luxe Motorcycle Factory and they also have lots of other bikes on their website thats definitely worth checking out. Mostly SR400/500’s and w650‘s.

BMW has unveiled a really nice new concept bike called the Lo Rider. One of the goals of this concept is to custom fit man and machine. Going well beyond accessories, the Lo Rider will offer a huge choice of components other than engine and chassis. Each bike can be customed straight from the factory. Established in 1992 Okazaki City, Japan, Zero Engineering are a famous custom motorcycle shop from the land of the Rising Sun. But they now have a shop in a Las Vegas. As far as choppers go these are the best I have seen. There are so many nasty bikes on their website to drool over.

Royal Enfield are selling aftermarket kits on its website now. They look ok, the scrambler kit looks much better than the cafe racer kit – the seat looks too square. There’s The Cafe Racer, The Scrambler and the Continental…
I love finding new custom shops especially from Japan (for my japan tour). They are called Presto Customs and their bikes are right up my alley because they specialize in yamaha sr400‘s and 500’s. Heres some awesome pics of their work….
