Triumph’s torquey Street Triple offers a ridiculously fun riding experience with gobs of tractable low and mid-range power and character for days. While you’d be hard-pressed to argue the merit of its performance, the model’s appearance is markedly more decisive. So, Carlos “Xarly” Guzman’s Vintage Addiction Crew set out to revamp the mid-size three-banger under the directive of building something lightweight, compact, fast, stylish, minimalistic, and ridable on a daily basis.

It’s the most powerful production motorcycle ever produced, nothing else even comes close, but this missile on two-wheels is more than just the sum of its parts. The brainchild of Australian race engineer Paul Maloney, who spent two decades in the paddocks of the world’s premier racing categories, the PGMV8 is the ultimate street bike he came back to the Victorian bush to build. The carbon bodied, road-legal machine is a mechanical masterpiece, packing 334hp from its signature 2.0l V8. So to get the inside word, Pipeburn spent considerable time over the last six months getting to know the man and his machine.

Since 2016, husband and wife team, Max and Erica Droog have been building custom bikes under the banner of Droog Moto. The Washington-based shop is known for its signature take on the post-apocalyptic look, with customs that can be best described as modern, doomsday-ready street fighters with a dash of scrambler flavor. For its latest build — dubbed “DM-015 The Urban Fighter” –– the couple has once again set its sights on Kawasaki’s Ninja 250R — Team Green’s longtime entry-level staple of a sportbike.

The sun no longer shines as darkness has come to span the day, rain rarely falls from the smoke covered sky and what food remains comes by force rather than finance. But away from the prying eyes of the overlords, in abandoned industrial areas lit by flame filled 44s, remain a few who still quench their thirst with gasoline. In this dystopian chaos, the two-wheeled terrors of Washington States Droog Moto rule the roads. The leader of the pack, a salvaged Suzuki Hayabusa slides between the rubble and outruns the regime’s rebels, it’s 1300 DRIFTER.
