SR400

Motor Garage Goods SR

Posted on October 18, 2009 by Scott in Brat, Café Racer. No Comments

Motor Garage Goods are an up and coming Japanese custom shop in Itami City, near Osaka. Like most Japanese shops they love the ever so popular SR400. They have done a great job creating this awesome SR in true cafe racer style. It’s low, light, lean and mean. Not to mention a beautiful paint job with matching fairing and tank. We also love that fat stainless Yoshimura muffler that looks like it packs a mighty bark. For more from these guys check out their sweet gallery including some Harley Davidson’s that are hotter than wasabi.

M&M’s SR

Posted on September 20, 2009 by Scott in Tracker. No Comments

This isn’t a bike built by the chocolate maker, it’s from a custom shop in Japan that goes by the name M&M Motorcycles. Based not far from Yokohama in a city called Kanagawa. Like most Japanese shops they specialize in SR’s, W650‘s and TR’s. We really dig this yellow SR tracker. Judging by their website they seem to build mostly street trackers. They also have a blog and a shop that are worth checking out. The shop has some interesting things, ranging from ashtrays through to motorcycle parts and clothing.

Ajito BSA

Posted on September 10, 2009 by Scott in Bobber. 3 comments

Discovered the Motorcycle Factory Ajito (their website needs some work) on a Spanish blog called Retro Custom Racer. Ajito is a custom shop in Japan that have made loads of cool sr400’s bobbers but it was this BSA C-11 named Racy King that really stood out. Everything on this bike looks hand made. The seat, brake light and Japanese dragon tank won’t be to everyone’s taste but you have to give credit where credit is due. Ajito has created something truly unique and we look forward to seeing more bikes from these guys in the future.

SR400 Drovers Dog

Posted on September 7, 2009 by Scott in Brat. 2 comments

We love receiving the Deus Oily Rag in our inbox and discovering what the guys at Deus have been creating. The first thing that stopped us in our tracks is this SR400 Drovers Dog. Done in true Deus style, with a SR skinny tank and those beautiful vintage Firestones. The only thing that bugs me is the Deus graphics on the tank, l have to be honest I much prefer the original logo (but hey, a bit of paint stripper would fix that). Hit the jump for the full Drovers Dog gallery.

Gravel Crew SR400

Yamaha SR400 Gravel Crew style. This Japanese shop always gets us excited in the nether regions. The clip-ons probably couldn’t get any lower. The square headlight is a unique touch that makes these guys great. Check out their gallery for more inspiration.

Wrap it up… I’ll take it

Posted on May 4, 2009 by Scott in Classic, Other. 1 Comment

I just received some pics of my sr400 before it gets shipped out here. Looks like they have done a good job packing and wrapping. I’m sure there’s a lot that can happen between Japan and Australia. I have heard some horror stories about cars being filled up with water or bikes that look like they have been dropped by forklifts! Anyway, it still looks great at this stage.

Yes, it is another Japanese custom shop. But these guys are doing things a little different. They look like they are really experimenting with tanks, pipes and paint jobs. Pretty distinctive. They are called Luxe Motorcycle Factory and they also have lots of other bikes on their website thats definitely worth checking out. Mostly SR400/500’s and w650‘s.

Can’t fake the Flakes

Posted on April 8, 2009 by Scott in Brat, Café Racer. No Comments

These guys are also in Japan and are called Flakes Custom Motorcycles they have some really nice bikes. They also specialize in some crazy paint work on tanks and helmets. I prefer the understated look but I have seen some crazy bikes and clothing in the tokyo streets. Heres one of their more subtle SR400‘s… except for that smokin exhaust.
